Decon-Recon Puma Low Customs by Sharp020

If only shoe customizers could put out work weekly, heck even monthly. It has been a while but Sharp020 has graced us with another super clean decon-recon custom this time via a pair of Puma Suede Lows. Sharp020 went “green” on this pair using a faux suede called Sensuede that is sustainable and made entirely from recycled polyester fibers. The suede was used for the majority of the upper in hyacinth while the Puma stripes and back panels a graphite tumbled leather was his choice to complement the shade of purple and the gold stitching. Oh yeah the stitching…how? Yep it is custom embroidered too and looks like it was done in a Puma factory. What started off as a regular pair of Pumas was deconstructed and using pretty much just the sole as the base is now a 1 of 1 design yet subtle…still one of a kind.

NSB.org 5th Anniversary Custom Nike Dunks by Sharp020

NikeSkateboarding.org has teamed up with recon-decon shoe customizer Sharp020 yet again. This time to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of their site with a lottery to win this pair (size 10.5). The lucky winner will get this 1 of 1 custom Nike Dunk reconstructed with the highest attention to detail. Sharp020 used a black buttery suede on the toes, white and black canvas on the mid and back panels, and couple shades of quality metallic leather on the toebox and Swooshes. Then comes the embroidery a 5th on the toe panel, Sharp020 signature tongue tags, and then a brilliant green NSB.org logo on the back heels to really show you who you rep by wearing these kicks. But Sharp020 covers all corners, just check the inside with the embroidered insoles, quilted lining, and the best custom tags I’ve ever seen. Part of me says it is time for Sharp020 to start designing his own brand and then another part of me wants him to never stop releasing his custom Dunks. Time will only tell.

HiiDef Nike Dunk SB Decon-Recon by Sharp020

What is HiiDef? An Internet creative company looking to change how people use the web. Many sneaker enthusiasts have probably heard of one site they are behind called SuperKix.com. These customs Nike Dunk SBs by Sharp020 were made for HiiDef’s Chief Operating Officer David Marcus. The cleanliness and attention to detail really match the design work behind HiiDef’s web designs. Where do I start? Reflective panels, very original quilted stitching along the midpanels and back heels, HiiDef embroidered logos on the heels and HiiDef on the heel tab. Hold on trying to let my fingers rest……..ok…Sharp020 went in with double layered Swooshes in bright orange ultrasuede against white leather, ultra suede insoles embroidered with SI Customs. My favorite part though is the little bit of some printed liners with the HiiDef logo in an array of colors,

Sharp020 Custom Nike P-Rod SB with Laser Engraving

Southern Florida based shoe customizer Sharp020 is slowly pulling ahead of the majority of shoe customizers with every pair of custom shoes he releases. This week he has dropped another gem in this pair of custom decon-recon Nike P-Rod II SBs in a black, white, and brown colorway. The white and black mesh against a laser engraved black leather is nothing. But that is only because of the contrast white stitching, which is straight as sober tightrope walker in a field sobriety test AND the seamless laser engraved tongue tags. Oh yeah…Sharp020 logo embroidered is hopefully a staple from here on if the material permits. Some might say it is a waste to make a shoe that looks so generic, so much like a general release. I don’t believe it is a waste when it looks so factory, sorry.

Sharp020: Neon and Reflective Black Custom Nike Dunk low SB for Higuy

Florida based shoe customizer Sharp020 is consistently up to his old tricks of enormous amounts of details on this pair of custom decon-recon Nike Dunk SB in black and neon green and yellow. This time though he has got his own embroidery machine doing work: with Sharp020 on the back heel tabs, the Hawaii islands on the right shoe, Higuy’s real name in Kanji on the left shoe, and then Sharp020 and HiGuy on the tongues. Next if black patent leather and black reflective material were not enough the midpanels are all quilted with a black crossing neon green stitch. Still not done as the lace panels are a deep black suede and Nike Swooshes are backed with a neon green outline. Kinda like a more personal custom edition of the classic Hawaii Nike Dunk SB from 2006.

Sharp020: Custom Nike Court Tradition Cement Gray / Yellow

One thing that pushes shoe customizers is the ability to experiment a new idea on their latest pair of shoes. Sometimes you run into walls such as Sharp020 did on this pair of street inspired custom Nike Court Tradition in cement gray and yellow. He was given the shoe over a year ago but came upon a problem as the shoe was made of hemp and was not taking to his usual deconstruction – reconstruction method. So he eventually had to cut the upper off the sole which I think in the end worked to the advantage of the chosen theme: street, pavement, cement, and just straight up abused. A full leather upper with a print that looks just like cement or pavement on your local sidewalk or street with huge cracks along different sections. The liner, Sharp020 logos along with the Swooshes are a orange-ish yellow that really pops. My favorite part is probably the Swooshes that appear to be a separate piece of leather but are actually seamlessly apart of the upper and only outlined by the yellow stitching. Again the obviously used sole brown with dirt fits the concept perfect.

Sharp020: Elephant, Cement, 3m, and Denim Custom Nike Dunk

Florida based customizer Sharp020 may have “cemented” his place as having the most realistic recreation of elephant print on this pair of custom Nike Dunks. As usual the only original part of the shoe is the Nike Dunk sole of which Sharp020 completely deconstructed and then reconstructed using his own materials. One of those materials is a light gray suede in which he hand painted and engraved that is absolutely the best elephant print I’ve ever seen from a customizer. The elephant print is so nice you may fail to realize the black denim, speckled light gray Nike Swooshes, and 3m Scotchlite reflective midpanels. This is the perfect shoe for someone that wants lots of materials, texture and detail without all the bright neon colors that say “Look at me damn it my shoes are NEON!”

Sharp020: Custom Nike P-Rod III

Very few people are at the level of making “decon-recon” custom shoes like Sharp020. That’s evident by one of his creations from earlier this year using a Nike P-Rod 3 as the base. Sharp020 reconstructed the entire upper only using the original sole and likely some of the back heel support going from black and red leather to a buttery fuchsia suede with black and red accents.

Sharp020: Nikeskateboarding.org Custom Nike Air Jordan 1 Carbon Fiber

Last week I posted up a Nike Dunk low by Florida based shoe customizer Sharp020. Once again Sharp020, who exclusively works with “decon-recon” custom shoes created a design based on his original project concept with NikeSkateboarding.org but this time on a Nike Air Jordan 1. Sharp020 came back with the kelly green accents and sun burst mid panels but for the first time he used a real suede as opposed to the sythetic suede he used on his shoes before. As if the suede was not enough, carbon fiber textured material was used to give the back uppers a bit more detail to go with the contrasted green stitching against black and silver panels. The end result is a super sleek futuristic look at one of the most classic timeless sneakers of all time, something the original company Nike Jordan Brand has trouble creating. Good work Sharp020. Sharp020: NikeSkateboarding.Org Custom Nike Dunk Mint

This custom by Sharp020 from December definitely put the stamp on 2009 as the year of the “decon-recon” custom shoe. Florida based shoe customizer Sharp020 has created a few pairs like this now, based on the original concept he released with unofficial Nike SB fan site: NikeSkateBoarding.org. Unlike kelly green he used before he used a mint green to go with the black and silver. These look to be some of the best of the NSB.org theme: a Nike Dunk with 3m reflective Schotchlite on the toe and lace panels, black patent leather swooshes, sun burst mid panels, black suede, and mint green accents: splattered midsole and quilted liner. Topped off with the clean Sharp020 heel tabs and tongue tags.
