Nike Dunk Untit1ed by GroundBreaker Customs

How else will you accomplish a goal if you don’t push yourself out of your comfort zone? Ask Demetrius Mensah of GroundBreaker Customs and he’ll tell you. Demetrius chose to make his latest pair of customs be a challenge in another step forward to customizing a pair of kicks through the decon-recon process. As someone who has been customizing coming up on three years now he was unsatisfied with the lack creativity in his work, wanted to start commanding more respect from his sneaker customizer peers and overall just kick GB up a notch. What did he do? These Nike Dunks titled Untit1ed.

What started as a run of the mill Nike Dunk low in red and white is now a detailed 1 of 1 half-way-reconstructed Dunk. To get closer to a being able to pull off a full decon-recon custom Demetrius replaced the heel panels, Swoosh, and tongues with a golden velvet using matching stitching. Next you can see the mid panels were changed to a black carbon fiber textured vinyl to match the black dyed and painted toe panels. Details feature silver eyelets on the top lace panel and a reuse of the NIKE back heel tabs. To give them their own unique look he reconstructed the tongue to be able to flap down and showcase the under star motif and mirrored Nike tags and added red eyelets. When it comes to a reconstruction the one of the hardest parts is making sure the toes look right, from this pair it appears Demetrius has one half down, in more ways than one.

These are available for order for a limited run. For your own pair or to checkout more work contact GroundBreaker Customs via Facebook.com/GBC14 and follow Demetrius on Twitter: @ThatShoeGuy
