Cell Dragon Ball Z Custom Nike Dunk by Mizzee Customs with Video

New Jersey based shoe customizer Mizzee Customs refused to back off on the details with his latest hand painted custom shoes: Nike Dunks themed after the character Cell from Dragon Ball Z. Cell’s personality supposedly changing often throughout the DBZ saga was represented in the Swooshes on these Nike Dunk SB mids with their chameleon color changing paint that looks purple or green at different angles. Cell’s main attributes of black and green colors were replicated in the light green suede with engraved and painted dark green spot like print and black mid panels. Topped off with yellow SB laces to match Cells choice of footwear. Up next for Mizzee custom shoes with a Goku of DBZ theme.

Ecentrik Artistry “Cocktail Lounge” Custom Nike Dunk Shoes

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based shoe customizer Ecentrick Artistry created his latest hand painted custom shoes being inspired by a cocktail lounge he has frequented in the past. The cocktail bars vibe and decor were recreated in the very warm weather colors of orange, red, and purple to lilac fade on the middle panel. Just enough black was added against the purple and on the Swooshes to keep them cool. Ecentrik created 2 pairs, one of which is mens US size 10 available via his online shop at Ecentrik.net

These also come with the matching cocktail glass and mini umbrella. Nobody will have an accessory like that!

Custom Vans Canvas Shoes Dressed Up As Nike Dunks Video

Something like these Vans Authentics custom painted with a panel silhouette of a Nike Dunk low are probably the closest thing we will ever get to major shoe company X major shoe company collaboration. The occasion would have to be really special if sneakerheads were ever given the chance to wait in line for a Nike Adidas shoe, Vans Converse, or maybe a Reebok Puma? Even though Nike and Jordan Brand are the same company their shoes have for sure taken their own identity over 25 years now. But one could consider the Air Jordan and Nike Air Force 1 Fusion the closest to big shoe brand X big shoe brand collabo. Though I think rap artist Curren$y put the Air Jordan Fusion line into perspective of many sneakerheads…metaphorically speaking that is.

At the least these would make people take a second or third look….”Like when did Vans come out with Nikes?”

emmanueLabor & Qustom Queen “Zartan” Custom Nike Dunk with Videos

Two shoe customizers emmanueLabor and Qustom Queen, living roughly 4,700 miles apart between Seattle, Washington and Glasgow, United Kingdom worked together for a 1 of 1 Zartan from G.I. Joe themed custom Nike Dunk. Each shoe customizer brought to the project their specialty: Qustom Queen color her changing paint and emmanueLabor his decon-recon skills. The toes change color after being exposed to heat from a military green to human flesh a la Zartan’s special ability. The rest of the shoe is made up of a very G.I. Joe like ballistic mesh, black suede, purple changing chroma material, black suede, and red contrast stitching. If you have no idea who Zartan is you’ll have to watch the classic commercial below about the color changing chameleon like villain character from G.I. Joe. C2 Customs: Gibson Guitar themed “Fireball” Nike Classic SB

The time Chris Hui of C2 Customs spent this spring at the 2010 Apple Education Leadership Summit continues to be proven as well spent resulting with another custom sneaker, this time for Don Henderson, the Senior Manager of Creative Expression at Apple Education. A rather broad list of Henderson’s interests: guitar, photography, sunsets, and the color orange were nailed down into a extremely original and wearable custom shoe. Chris’ design upon a Nike Classic SB was based off the classic “Fireball” finish used so often on Gibson Guitar’s. The tongue was turned up a notch with a hand cut leather lace holder/pull tab in the shape of a guitar neck and headstock featuring C2 and Don in the recognizable font used by Gibson. The airbrushed lining of the edges could not be more crisp.

I’m very excited to announce that I am going to be having my first solo exhibition featuring my custom shoe art. The exhibition is entitled ART TO WEAR and will be displayed at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. Opening night is July 23, 2010 from 6-8pm. Don’t worry if you can’t make it that night because the exhibition will be running from July 23-September 3, 2010 so you can stop by another time to check out the work. I will be featuring 9 pairs of custom kicks and 6 prints of my work.

The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil “LOVE” show Custom Nike Dunks by Swaves

Free hand painted, YES these custom Nike Dunks by Swaves with Cirque du Soleil’s “LOVE” a tribute to The Beatles show as a theme were painted free hand no stencils or tape. I’ve heard of highly regarded surgeons with less steady hands then from what I’ve seen of shoe customizer Swaves. These are a great use of a base shoe that was already yellow to go with the “LOVE” theme’s colors of red, yellow, pink, and white. The logos on the back heels are an exact replica and the ever so famous Beatles logo looks like it was taken right off an album cover. Better yet these were actually commissioned by one of the performers in the Cirque du Soleil show. Every customizer should use this pair as a measuring stick for what a their pair of painted custom shoes should look like: clean, crisp, not too simple not too busy, and just the right colors. My favorite part is easily the 5 color swirl that if extended alone could be a cool design. Oh and all the lines, logos, and everything that looks like it was printed by a computer not a guy, his paint and a brush.

You have to be living under a rock to have not heard the latest movie of the ongoing Twilight saga, Eclipse was released today.
