Brian Wilson “Fear the Beard” All Star Game 2011 Custom Nike Cleats

Last season San Francisco Giants pitcher Brian Wilson was fined for wearing bright orange cleats during a regular season game that were a gift from Nike for the 2010 All Star Game. Someone explain to me what is wrong with some cleats in the color of his team? Major league sporting dress code rule makers should chill out. For tonight’s All Star game they’ll have to chill as Brian Wilson will again wear a pair custom cleats, except this time they are hand painted customs by shoe customizer Jacob Patterson. The design is even literally DEMANDING to be fined. The Nike Air Show Elite 2 model used have clear Swooshes that allow the wearer to change the Swoosh color with 12 different color cards. Instead of a plain color Jacob painted a card with “Fear the Beard” and “Fine the Spikes”. The rest of the shoes have a intense grunge mixture of orange and black with images of Wilson on the medial sides and his logos in a subtle black on the toes. Check them out tonight at 8pm ET on Fox during the 2011 MLB All Star Game in Phoenix, Arizona.
